Terms & Conditions

Welcome to RV Brothers Pty Ltd (www.rvbrothers.com.au). Please take the time to read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By accessing or using our Website, booking services, approving quotations, or authorizing work on your vehicle, you agree to be bound by these terms:

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER CHECKLIST

Before dropping off your caravan or motorhome at RV Brothers Pty Ltd, please ensure:

  • Gas: LPG bottles are connected and contain sufficient gas if gas appliances are being tested or serviced.

  • Diesel: Diesel tank contains sufficient fuel if diesel appliances are being diagnosed or tested.

  • Hygiene: Toilet cassettes, black-water tanks, and grey-water systems are completely emptied.

  • Belongings: All personal belongings, valuables, and fragile items are removed.

  • Access: Areas requiring inspection or repair are accessible and clear of stored items.

Workshop & Service Terms

1. Quotes, Deposits & Additional Work:

  • Validity: Quotations are valid for 30 days from the issue date, after which pricing and parts availability are subject to change.

  • Scope & Approval: Quotes apply strictly to the scope of works described. Any additional repairs or variations will be subject to revised pricing and customer approval where reasonably practicable.

  • Deposits: To secure a booking, full payment for required parts or a 30% deposit for labor-only jobs must be received prior to ordering or scheduling. Deposits are non-refundable once parts have been ordered or work has commenced, to the extent permitted by law.

  • Diagnostic Fees: Labor required to disassemble, inspect, or diagnose a fault is billable. If you choose not to proceed with recommended repairs, you remain responsible for diagnostic labor incurred up to that point.

2. Pre-Existing & Concealed Damage:

  • Caravans and motorhomes can contain concealed structural damage, corrosion, water rot, brittle components, or prior substandard repairs.

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not responsible for pre-existing faults. Removing components during repairs may expose previously hidden issues that require additional work.

3. Water Ingress, Resealing & Positive Air Pressure Testing:

  • Water leaks can be complex to trace, as water often travels through internal framing and cavities before becoming visible.

  • Resealing services address specific identified areas. Resealing one area does not guarantee the vehicle is completely waterproof or prevent future leaks from other locations.

  • Positive Air Pressure Testing: Positive air pressure testing does not guarantee 100% detection of all water ingress points and may place additional strain on weak, deteriorated, or poorly maintained seals. RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not liable for leaks that could not reasonably be detected, pre-existing seal deterioration, or resulting damage, except as required by law.

  • Removing old sealant may expose underlying panel decay or structural damage.

4. Appliance Testing (Gas & Diesel):

  • Gas and diesel appliances require adequate LPG or diesel fuel to test. If testing cannot be completed due to empty fuel sources, additional labor charges may apply for re-testing.

  • If a gas installation is found to be unsafe or non-compliant, RV Brothers Pty Ltd may refuse to test or reconnect the appliance until rectified.

5. Toilet Cassettes & Waste Systems:

  • For hygiene and workplace health and safety, all waste tanks and toilet cassettes must be emptied before delivery. RV Brothers Pty Ltd reserves the right to refuse or postpone work on vehicles with unemptied waste systems.

6. Electrical Systems:

  • Caravans and motorhomes often feature complex, modified, or aftermarket electrical setups. Where an electrical system is deemed unsafe or non-compliant, RV Brothers Pty Ltd reserves the right to suspend work until the issue is made safe.

7. Customer-Supplied Parts:

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd cannot guarantee the fitment, quality, or suitability of customer-supplied parts.

  • Additional labor costs caused by incorrect or defective customer-supplied parts will be charged to the customer. Warranties on customer-supplied parts remain strictly with your supplier or manufacturer.

8. Transit, Road Testing & Towing:

  • You authorize RV Brothers Pty Ltd personnel to drive or tow your vehicle on public roads or off-site locations for diagnostic, testing, or transport purposes.

  • You warrant that the vehicle—including hitches, couplings, tires, brakes, and lights—is roadworthy and validly registered.

9. Weight & Payload Compliance (GVM / ATM):

  • It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any additions, modifications, or equipment installed do not cause the vehicle to exceed its legal Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM), Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM), or axle load ratings.

10. Insurance, Site Risk & Events Beyond Reasonable Control:

  • Mandatory Insurance: All caravans and motorhomes must maintain active comprehensive insurance while on our premises, including cover for unforeseen events such as theft, fire, and storm damage. Customers are responsible for confirming their insurance policy provides adequate coverage.

  • Customer Belongings: Customers must remove all personal belongings, valuables, and fragile items before drop-off. RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle.

  • Limitation of Premises Risk: RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not liable for events beyond its reasonable control, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

11. Pre-Purchase & General Inspections:

  • Inspections assess accessible areas of the vehicle at the time of testing. An inspection is not a guarantee of future reliability or an exhaustive list of hidden or intermittent faults.

12. Parts & Supplier Delays:

  • Estimated completion dates are estimates only. RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not liable for delays caused by freight networks, parts availability, manufacturer lead times, or insurance assessor approvals.

13. Insurance Repairs & Claims:

  • Customer Liability: While we may deal directly with your insurer, the customer remains ultimately responsible for all costs. You are directly liable for paying any insurance excess, policy shortfalls, or additional non-approved work prior to vehicle collection.

  • Assessor Approvals: We cannot order parts or commence work until formal written approval is received from your insurer or assessor. RV Brothers Pty Ltd is not responsible for delays caused by insurance processing or assessor inspections.

  • Authority to Deal: By directing us to perform an insurance quote or repair, you authorize RV Brothers Pty Ltd to communicate with your insurer, release relevant vehicle photos/notes, and collect insurance payments on your behalf for authorized work.

14. Third-Party Services:

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd reserves the right to engage qualified third-party contractors or specialists to perform specialized repairs where necessary.

15. Paint, Decals & Exterior Finishes:

  • Due to weathering, UV exposure, and age differences, an exact match for paint, decals, cladding, or gel coats cannot be guaranteed on older vehicles.

16. Photos & Job Documentation:

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd may take photos, videos, or records of your vehicle for job documentation, insurance claims, diagnostic notes, and warranty records.

17. Payment & Title:

  • Full payment is required before the vehicle is released from our premises unless agreed otherwise in writing. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer and EFTPOS (surcharges may apply).

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd retains title and ownership over all supplied parts and materials until the invoice is paid in full.

18. Storage & Uncollected Vehicles:

  • Vehicles must be collected within 48 hours of notification that work is complete.

  • Vehicles remaining on site after this period will incur a storage fee of $50 + GST per day unless prior written arrangements have been made.

  • RV Brothers Pty Ltd retains a legal lien over the vehicle until all outstanding invoices and storage fees are paid. Uncollected vehicles remaining after 30 days may be handled under applicable Uncollected Goods legislation.

19. Warranty:

  • Workmanship warranties provided by RV Brothers Pty Ltd apply strictly to the specific repair performed.

  • Warranties do not cover normal wear and tear, pre-existing issues, misuse, third-party alterations, accidental damage, or subsequent leaks from unrelated locations.

20. Workplace Safety:

  • We reserve the right to refuse or halt work on any vehicle that presents an immediate safety risk to our staff or facilities.
